A statistical survey on 109 cases of tuberculous epididymitis was made during the period from Jan, 1967, to June in the Department of urology, the 17th Army Hospital and following results were obtained.
1) Incidence of tuberculosis of the epididymis is 21.4% of all urological diseases of all inpatients, and 66. 1% of tuberculosis of G-U tract of the male.
2) The highest occurrence is observed in the ages of 21 to 24(71.5%)
3) Lateralization shows 42% in the left, 48. 5% in the right and 9.3% in the both. The site of invasion is most popular in the tail(45.9%).
4) In 22%, tuberculous diseases were present in the past history, the lung and urinary tract were most frequently invaded (18.4%).
5) Of presenting symptoms, swelling of the epididymis was observed in all cases, frequency of urination (23%) and hematuria in (21.7%).
6) 2.5`cc or lower of ejaculate were observed in 58%, counting of spermatozoa disclosed azoospermia in 12%, oligospermia in 32% and normospermia in 25%.
7) In urine examination, WBC 5/H.P.F. or more is observed in 63.3%, RBC 3/H.P.F. or more in (21.7%) protein in (30%) and tubercle bacili in 25.5%.
8) The complication of tuberculosis of epididymis is in 80.8%, especially prostatic tuberculosisis in 60.4%.
